Princess, best known as "Viva Napoli", is a sailing boat whose name belongs
to history. Its history goes back to 1979 when Beppe Panada ordered to
"Cantieri CARIMA", a famous neapolitan shipbuilding, to realise the project
designed by Simeoni.
Since then Princess took part to three transatlantic races, among which the
OSTAR, in 1980, the singlehanded race from Great Britain to the United
States. In the years between 1981 and 1982 took part to the Whitbread round
the world race and in 1985 gained an overall second position in the Brooklin
Cup from Portofino to New York, a sailing race for one man and one woman. In
1995, after it had cruised all over the Mediterranean Sea among Greece,
France, Croatia and Italy, Princess was sent to the Comena shipbuilding in
Torre del Greco for a total restructure. From there, in 1996 its charter
history has begun.
